The Independent University of Moscow and the Moscow Center of Continuous Mathematical Education have organized the International Conference ``Fundamental Mathematics today'' dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Independent University of Moscow. The conference was held in Moscow from December 26 to December 29, 2001; it included the following sections:

• Geometry and topology
• Dynamical systems and theory of singularities
• Algebra, algebraic geometry, and number theory
• Mathematical physics
